Completing the vision

Honoring the past and making room for the future.

After 25 years at Cedar Bluff, the final chapter awaits for our beautiful campus.

It's time to place the CAPSTONE on Knoxville Catholic High School.

1997

It all began with a vision led by Father Chris Michelson of building a new campus on Fox Lonas Drive with the goal to finish in five phases.

With the generosity and hard work of those that pledged for the campaign, construction began for our main campus.

2000

Phase one is completed with the opening of the main KCHS building...the CORNERSTONE of our campus.

434 students moved from our Magnolia campus to the new Fox Lonas campus for their spring semester in January of 2000!

2003

The All Sports Complex is completed marking the end of phase two.

“The addition of our All Sports Complex didn’t just expand our facilities — it expanded opportunities, strengthened character, and forever elevated the standard for what our student-athletes could achieve. And it will continue to do so for generations to come.”
- Jason Surlas, Athletic Director

2008

Phase three is completed with the opening of Schaad Hall and the Nancy Swain Watters Guidance Suite, making more room for exceptional learning and a place for students to be cared for at a whole new level.

"Our Guidance Suite has become a place where students feel known, seen and cared for every time they walk through the door." -Kat Coy, Counseling Department Chair

2022

Phase four is completed with the opening of St. Gregory the Great Auditorium and our state-of-the-art Witsoe Family Innovation Lab.

And now it's time for the final phase...

It's time to place the CAPSTONE on Knoxville Catholic with the Father Chris Michelson Center.

"I can't think of a more fitting way to honor someone who has been so instrumental in the evolution of Catholic High as Fr. Chris. An investment in the Fr. Chris Michelson Center is much more than brick and steel, it is an investment in the young people, the faculty and the mission of Knoxville Catholic High School."
    Dickie Sompayrac, President
