INNOVATION LAB
Knoxville Catholic is excited to announce the opening of the brand new, state-of-the-art STEM Innovation Lab!
At nearly 2,500 square feet, the STEM Innovation Lab, established in honor of the Witsoe Family, uniquely positions KCHS to educate students in a transformational way unlike any other school in the area.
"As technology continues to accelerate our world, our students need the best educational experience in the fields of engineering, computer programming, robotics, science, and design,” said KCHS President, Dickie Sompayrac. "The Innovation Lab uniquely positions KCHS to educate students in a transformational way unlike any other school in the area."
The mission of the Innovation Lab is to create a welcoming space for students of all disciplines to learn future career skills on industry standard equipment. Knoxville Catholic is committed to offering a comprehensive STEM curriculum and will partner with local industry experts to bring about meaningful STEM opportunities and engagement.
The STEM Innovation Lab is also the headquarters of Catholic's award-winning robotics program – Robotichauns Team 2393.
Innovation Lab Chair and CEO of ELO Touchscreen Solutions, Craig Witsoe, says, “I am honored to help launch the Innovation Lab at Catholic High. Getting students excited about STEM through the innovation center and new curriculum offerings will give students an early edge for the many exciting careers connected to science, technology, engineering, and math.”
